Accessibility
General information
Les Halles de Schaerbeek takes accessibility issues seriously and tries to make the audience experience as smooth as possible. As far as possible, we provide information about stimuli (light, sound, smoke), content comments and accessibility for PRMs on the page for each event, where this information is available.
If you would like specific information about a project, please contact us at mediation@halles.be.
If you have any mobility problems, please contact the ticket office (billetterie@halles.be) before the show so that we can welcome you in the best possible conditions.
We would also like to make it clear that we are aware that the experience of a work of art, particularly a live work, or of a cultural event is by its very nature experimental and an adventure that we do not wish to and do not believe we can control in its entirety. We aim for the best, not perfection.
Spaces
The pavement is over 3 metres wide in front of Les Halles, and you can stop for a few minutes by car. No public car parks are available in the immediate vicinity, so we strongly advise you to use public transport or a bicycle, if possible.
The entrance, ticket office, corridors and doors are accessible to PRMs. A mechanical ramp provides access to the bar and the areas on level -1. A PRM toilet is located on level 0, at the end of the corridor.
PRM accessibility may vary depending on the type of event. The first row of bleachers is accessible to PRM. A PRM platform is installed when the main music stage is set up.
Languages
For each show, you can find information on the website about the languages spoken, subtitled or signed. We try to make shows available in three languages (French, Dutch and English) but this is not always possible, for artistic or financial reasons.
Content
For each show, we try to point out any traumatic triggers or sensitive subjects that might affect the audience. Each person's sensitivity is unique and they will react differently to the same content. Communicating this information allows each person to decide for themselves whether or not the show is accessible to them.
Please note that we do not necessarily have this information for all shows, particularly for productions taking place at Les Halles. We may also not be able to identify all sensitive elements, but we do our best to inform our audiences.
Safe(r) space
Les Halles takes discrimination issues seriously and strives to offer the most inclusive welcome possible. Discriminatory comments and behaviour, whether racist, sexist, ageist, validist, LGBTQIA+phobic, etc., are not and will not be tolerated. You can report any inappropriate or unpleasant behaviour to any member of our team wearing a jacket or badge bearing Les Halles colours. The Osmose safe team is also present at certain events.
Whatever the situation, consent is absolutely essential. It must be given freely, in an enlightened, enthusiastic, informed, specific and reversible manner. Excessive consumption of alcohol or drugs does not allow informed consent to be given. Water is available free of charge at the bar.
Early Boarding
For certain shows, early boarding is possible for audiences who prefer not to be in the middle of a moving crowd. Please contact the box office if you would like to take advantage of this service.
