Dena Vahdani

With one foot in Brussels, one foot in Flanders and a heart in Iran. Dena is 100,000 watts of positive energy! Of Iranian origin, this young woman navigates between two cultures, between East and West, with an enormous amount of humour, self-mockery, tenderness and intelligence.

Dena is a multi-faceted stand-up comedian. She performs her show, goes on the radio, appears on TV, writes podcasts, series and articles, and all in several languages. Freedom is her driving force. As a gay Iranian woman, she takes advantage of the platform she is given to shout out her existence, and that of her fellow women.

Sometimes sweet and bubbly, sometimes mischievous and emotional, Dena could have been a juggler, if only to sweep you off your feet. Being Iranian, poetry is in her soul. Belgian, self-mockery is in her heart. Flemish, rigour in her work.

This warrior princess is not fighting a war, but a quest for a world with more laughter and, above all, more freedom.
