It’s summer and Lucie is dreaming. She is an actress on holiday with her daughter and she imagines herself on a horse, in an armour. While she is daydreaming, she meets two lady knights also lost in the same dream. As they wander through the land, all sorts of questions about their role as artists and women comes to the surface – and bring a rebellion on stage! With a clever use of videos, lines between reality and fiction are blurred even further.
Is it the portrait of an actress? Are they real? Is it a tale? Un Royaume (‘A Kingdom’) is an ironic and subtle tale that challenges the authority of those who rule over theatres. After all, what does art need the most, if not freedom?
