La Mondiale générale
According to La Mondiale générale and many other experts (some of whom are not catastrophists), humans are the only species on this planet that is capable of willingly destroying itself. Some humans are also acrobats. If you are one of them, you might as well self-sabotage with style, panache and creativity, leaving rules and modesty behind.
With this idea in mind, the five acrobats on stage perform a series of dangerous acts that call for accidents. The space they evolve in is full of obstacles and unnecessary dangers. It will definitely take an unreasonable amount of risk to overcome these challenges.
Instead of using traditional equipment (we have seen these too many times to still be impressed), they perform with wood blocks: they’re chunky and less easy to manipulate. There will be hula-hoop too, but it will be unlike anything you have seen before!
Le gros sabordage is an ironic, happily stubborn and skilful display of excellence. La Mondiale générale manages to both satisfy and dodge the guilty pleasure we feel when looking at an imminent catastrophe. Sounds exciting, right ?
