Born 27 years ago, in Nikki, Benin, Angelo Moustapha began playing percussion at the age of 7, in the parish of his village: "The Church of Heavenly Christianity". Elected Best Drummer of Africa in 2017 at the FESTIVAL MIA (Best Instrumentalists of Africa). A graduate of the Ecole Supérieure des Métiers d'Art et de la Culture in Cotonou, he holds a professional diploma of competence and intrinsic ability.
More than a passion, music is a vocation for this multi-instrumentalist whose influences vary between traditional music, modern jazz and jazz-fusion. His dynamism, his personality, his desire, his passion, his rigour, his professionalism and his work have allowed him to be noticed by great Jaz figures such as Philip Catherine the famous Belgian Jazz guitarist, or the famous Beninese guitarist Lionel Loueke guitarist of Herbie Hancock. He is currently Philip Catherine's drummer and percussionist.
Angelo plays on the biggest European Jazz stages such as the Jazz Festival in Middelheim, Flagey etc. He played his Solo project at Flagey on 22/10/2020. A Sold Out concert.
