CNAC & Galapiat Cirque
Every year, La Villette in Paris hosts a major event : the Centre National des Arts du Cirque – a famous circus school where the likes of Mathurin Bolze and Yohan Bourgeois trained – comes with their big top and perform sold out shows for two weeks. They travel around the country too. But in spite of being an international school – in the show, there is over a dozen performers coming from the four corners of the world – they have barely performed abroad. In this school, the training is of the highest quality, the boundaries between artforms are blurred, artists of a new kind train there.
For the first time ever, the CNAC crosses borders. Maybe it’s because the 31st promotion will be coached by Galapiat’s troublemakers ? Galapiat was created by six circus artists who wanted to transmit, share, live in caravans and take the circus where it’s not usually going.

La brèche, Pôle national des arts du cirque Normandie / Cherbourg-en-Cotentin accueille l’équipe artistique en résidence de création du 1er au 13 septembre 2019. | Galapiat Cirque est soutenu pour son fonctionnement par la Région Bretagne, le département des Côtes d’Armor, et le ministère de la Culture – DGCA «Aide à l’itinérance». Depuis janvier 2017, Galapiat Cirque est conventionné par le ministère de la Culture.
