Winter School
RITCS
Every year, the Royal Institute for Theater, Cinema and Sound (RITCS) in Brussels organise the Winter School, a transdisciplinary module of artistic research around a single theme. In 2020, the theme of the module is circus. RITCS and ESAC (Brussels Circus School) have joined forces and, for two weeks, they will take circus, theatre and visual arts students from both schools and from other European arts schools to Les Halles.
They will focus on three main topics: artistic research in their practice, their work and the current challenges. There will be four workshops running in parallel. Workshops are organised by Nicanor di Elia (circus), Floor van Leeuwen (theatre and performance), Simon Mayer (dancer, choreographer and musician), Corine Sombrun (Chaman and musicologist) and Alexander van Tournhout (circus).
There will also be conferences, debates, films and a public sharing on 14 January. The winter school term will end on 17 January with a joyous sharing of the work the students would have done.
