The solo piece « Recuerdos del Presente » embodies the rhythm of the Andean cumbia and its tonalities evoking nostalgia during celebration. In the piece Sharon Mercado Nogales finds traces of her family parties, shared intoxications, zapateo movements, retaking nostalgia and redefining the social through the symbolic. « Recuerdos del Presente » seeks to transform the space between vivid memories of the past and a real party experience, having as its center the contradiction-opposition: sadness / happiness, loneliness / companionship.
