Writing with a tree branch balanced on the paper, drawing by juggling balls dipped in ink, throwing pieces of charcoal on a canvas to create a shape... Fabian Krestel explores new and playful ways to translate movement visually, using juggling as a tool to create images. Through the precision of ambidextrous motions, the geometry of the lines and dots used, he invents an astonishing artistic grammar that seeks a path between the process and the product. The audience witnesses – and even participates in – the marriage of a circus discipline and a drawing technique. The motifs from juggling then exist as works in their own right. Somewhere between a performance and an exhibition, this is a fascinating work in progress.
