A Divine Comedy
Florentina Holzinger
In choreographer Florentina Holzinger’s performance A Divine Comedy, the Viennese enfant terrible catapults Italian poet Dante’s eponymous work into the present, creating heaven and hell, here and now. Performance art, cabinet of curiosities or perilous stunt show?
Blurring the distinctions so deeply rooted in our culture, she brings to the stage an all-female cast of actresses, dancers and stunt performers of all ages to explore dance as preparation for your own mortality.
Holzinger raises the burning question of what spirituality is possible in the 21st century, in relentless dance theatre with an in-your-face production that’s as disconcerting as it is provocative and at the same time hilarious.
